One of the most effective means of improving student achievement is improving teaching.

Through our mentoring program, instructional coaches work side-by-side with classroom teachers to help them learn, practice, and refine new and established teaching skills. Support is individualized to each school/educator’s needs.

We have a legacy of creating positive, seamless relationships between teachers, administrators, and mentors, working closely with schools to ensure that mentoring services are meaningful, productive, and positive for educators. Mentors meet regularly with school principals to coordinate program details. And frequency and schedules are determined in advance by school administrators.

Schools come to us for mentoring support for both new and experienced teachers, and for individuals as well as groups.

• New teachers:
  Mentoring provides essential support when schools face a number of new teachers at once, or when a first-, second-, or third-year teacher is experiencing difficulty in the classroom

• Experienced teachers:
  When experienced teachers want information about new programs, our mentors
  provide focused support. When teachers struggle with academic or behavioral issues in the classroom, mentoring provides the guidance to help turn things around.

• Departments or grade-level teachers:
  Mentors often work with entire departments or groups of grade-level teachers seeking information on specific educational programs.

• School-wide educators:
  When schools request more support, we can assign a mentor to their entire school to work with as many teachers as possible to improve overall knowledge and performance.

• Parents and community members:
  Parent workshops, community programs, and facilitated discussions are among the many ways our mentors work in support of parents and school communities.
