| Get ready for school and work beyond high school!
Our career readiness services help out-of-school youths get a successful start in the labor market or in post-secondary schooling by building their basic life skills, providing career counseling and work skills training, and connecting them with local career or educational opportunities.
We know that educational credentials and basic skills are critical to success in the job market. That’s why we offer an integrated plan that helps students obtain their GED and provides the training they need to find and maintain employment or continued learning.
Beyond academic support, we help students identify their competencies and interests and provide occupational training to help them pursue entry-level jobs in the industries they’ve chosen to focus on, including life-skills training, computer literacy, world-of-work skills, leadership skills, and more.
And we give them the skills and tools they need to pursue employment: helping them create a resume, conduct job searches, and prepare for interviews. We bring in speakers from local employers, colleges, training programs, and branches of the military who connect students with opportunities to continue their education, find support services, or obtain employment.
After the program ends, we stay in touch with our students over the next year, ensuring that they remain employed or enrolled in college or occupational training programs. |
