The Forum of Italian American Educators: 34th Annual Awards Ceremony
Since 1978, FIAME has been promoting Italian culture for a new generation of Italian Americans. Furthermore, they honor the achievements of Catholic and public school educators. “Good teaching doesn’t come from behind a desk,” says Rosemary Mercora, FIAME President and P.S. 83 staff developer. “It comes from the heart.”
Several unsung community members will be recognized for their various contributions to Italian American education at this year’s ceremony. The list of honorees ranges from volunteers and teachers, to assistant superintendents. Each honoree will receive an award recognizing their service to the community and education field.
