At Sierra School of Antioch we offer the companionship of two service dogs, Luna Lovegood and Seymour. Both are certified service dogs who have not only received basic canine training but also training for PTSD, anxiety, and to prevent self-harm. Everyone who visits is encouraged to give our two furry pals belly rubs and treats!
Our students are excited to spend time with both dogs and enjoy taking them on walks, feeding them, or playing fetch. While the dogs are in class, they lay around going from student to student providing support and attention. The classroom went on a field trip to a local park where students not only were able to enjoy the fresh air and a picnic, but get active and play fetch with our furry pals all afternoon.
