High Road School of Hartford: High School is excited to announce a new partnership with Springfield Technical Community College. On January 15, 16, and 17th three groups of up to 6 students will participate in a 3 day module exposing them to 3 separate career fields (one career for each day). We are very excited about this partnership and look forward to offering these opportunities to our students throughout the school year!
Healthcare: Patient Simulation Experience
Catapult students will be exposed to the health care field. Students will have a series of interactive exercises with our “simulated” live patients and experience a series of “hands on” patient-caretaker scenarios. Taking of vital signs, patient handling and personal care basics are just a few topics that will be covered. Students will receive a certificate.
Digital Printing: How to Design and Print Your Own T-Shirt
Students will learn about the Digital Printing field in the STCC Graphic Arts Department. They will select their own image, setup the image in Photoshop, and print their own T-shirt on a digital press. Each student will take home his or her own custom designed and printed T-shirt.

STCC Mechanical Engineering Technology Lab: Design/Build Fidget Spinner
Students will experience how to design and build a working fidget spinner. Starting with a review of a blueprint and its purpose, students will view parts of the spinner as it is being machined on a CNC machine. Students will then follow the blueprint, and assemble and test their fidget spinner. Students will take home the fidget spinner they assembled.
