During the 2018 holiday season, students at High Road School of Philadelphia participated in the third annual End of the Road for Hunger Food Drive. This year staff raised the ante by offering a pizza party for any homeroom that collected over 100 non-perishable food items. With each homeroom averaging a slight 15 students, staff knew this was not going to be an easy feat. However, by the end of the month-long event, not one, but two homerooms had amassed over 100 items each! Super student Javon Alston received special acknowledgement for being the biggest contributor school wide. Donations were packaged up and transported to the Covenant House Pennsylvania, a non-profit that provides an array of services for homeless young people throughout the state.
