Origami, from ori meaning ” folding”, and kami meaning “paper” is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture. In modern usage, the word “origami” is used as an inclusive term for all folding practices, regardless of their culture of origin.
Miss Jessica lead the way in a creative hands on activity where our students learned the art of Origami as well as making their very own. Students Ethan and Steven had a very fun time learning how to fold and create a paper sailboat. As a class we found one needs patience and determination when it comes to the art Origami. Students were able to help each other and work together as a team to each create a sailboat as well as learn history of the Japanese culture by having an interactive lesson along with it.
