Room 4 did research and displayed it on a trifold board regarding the history of African head wraps and the exploitation and travesty of slavery to sell European garments. We showed actual head wraps, African cloths and showed several books we plan to read by African American Authors.
Room 4 also researched items invented by African Americans and printed them to be displayed on the tables for staff, students, and parents to view; reminding everyone that American History is Black History [i.e. dust pan, ironing board, lantern, ice cream scoop, cell phone, Lasik eye surgery, gas mask, traffic light and the list goes on…].
