Our middle school students had the opportunity to visit Cape May County Park and Zoo. The students observed animal life focusing on the animal habitats that they lived in and what the animals consumed. The students were fascinated to find out that a few of the birds were injured and placed in the zoo to live the remainder of their lives instead of euthanasia. The students were not frightened and had positive responses to being close to the lions and bears at the zoo. A few of the students had been researching endangered species and had the chance to see one of the animals up close. It was exciting to see the joy when the student realized what was walking in the habitat in front of them. We stopped for lunch and cooled down with a cup of Italian ice. We walked around with Blue and Red lips for the last stretch of our amazing day!
