The climate committee at High Road of Hartford High School is excited to start the 2019-2020 school year!  The committee wanted to make the return to school to be more exciting hoping to see increased attendance this year and to engage students further in their learning with an appealing school environment and activities.

Staff began the school year by participating in three days of training and team building to gear us up for the new school year, including special training in Trauma Informed Practices and how to further engage students.  Bulletin boards were made to be colorful, relevant to learning, and inviting.  Student desks were prepped to prepare our students for success, lesson plans were created, and staff made all of their copies to be ready.

As usual, our Operations Manager, Ronda Russo met each student as they get off the bus. She did so by greeting them with their name and introducing everyone to our new students. This year they were also met with a big Welcome Back sign and teachers in the hallway who were all happy to start school.

The next phase of the High Road School of Hartford High is to get our families involved by having an Open House with a cookout scheduled for September 13th from 1:30pm-3:00pm.  We at High Road School of Hartford High think that it takes a village to educate a student.  We are so excited to involve our parents, students and staff in the best school year yet!
