Students at High Road School of Wallingford High School participated in the “Pinwheels for Peace” project for World Peace Day on September 21st. Students designed pinwheels with colorful designs and pictures of things that brought them peace. Students wrote what peace means to them and ways they could spread peace. Students then placed their pinwheels in our front garden to create a garden of peace to greet guests and students as they enter the building.

Some quotes from our Peace Pinwheels include:

“Put your differences aside and make peace.”

“Stop violence and speak up.”

“To spread peace you can volunteer at your local humane society.”

“We can make peace by respecting others and treating others the way that you would want to be treated. “

“Cleaning the oceans and throwing away garbage can keep the world clean and peaceful.”
