Why do you land on the ground when you jump up instead of floating off into space? Why do things fall down when you throw them or drop them? The answer is gravity: an invisible force that pulls objects toward each other. Earth’s gravity is what keeps you on the ground and what makes things fall. High Road School of Wallingford Primary/Middle students in grades 1-4 experimented with gravity by making their own roller coasters! Ms. Rey’s classroom worked together first to understand gravity and how it works. Next, student partners collaborated to determine what would be the best structure to show the force of gravity. Riding a roller coaster is fun but making one with a friend is even better!
