Promotion made possible in Florida with Learning Leap

A central Florida school district knew that its struggling learners needed reading intervention and math intervention programs that boost test scores, reverse summer learning loss trends and position students for promotion to the next grade. This district implemented Catapult Learning’s Summer Learning Leap program beginning in 2011, and continued with the program in the summers of 2012 and 2013.

  • More than 1,000 Florida third grade students were invited to participate in the 2012 summer program designed by the experts at Catapult Learning.
  • Of students who attended the Summer Learning Leap programs in 2012, the target year of the study, 40% achieved proficiency.
  • These results represent a 14% increase in proficiency when compared to the study pilot year (2011) and a 60% increase over the baseline year (2010).
