Catapult Learning’s Summer School Program Returns to Detroit

Leading Education Services Provider Follows Up Successful 2010 Summer Program

Detroit, MI (PRWEB) July 15, 2011

The Detroit Public School System selected Catapult Learning as its summer school provider for the second consecutive year. Catapult’s “Learning Leap” summer learning program combines reading and math instruction with cultural enrichment activities and family involvement.

More than 3000 K-8 Detroit Public School students will participate in Learning Leap, which kicked off June 20 and will run through July 29th. The 3K plus students who participated in the program last year realized impressive gains; on average raising their reading and mathematics performance by five and seven percentile points, respectively.

“Our program is designed to help students and their families overcome educational disruption by providing academic and social support,” said Stuart Udell, president and CEO of Catapult Learning. “Our goal is to afford students with the skills to meet the same academic achievement standards that all children are expected to meet, and prepare them to make a successful transition to the next grade level and beyond.”
