ESGR Patriot Award Presented to Zakiya Courtney and Catapult Learning Milwaukee
Zakiya Courtney, Director of Community Relations at Catapult Learning-Milwaukee was honored with the Patriot Award by ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve), a Department of Defense organization. The award was presented on Friday May 17th, 2012.
The award was given based upon a nomination submitted by Russell Williams III, a seasonal worker for Catapult Learning.
Russell, 25, nominated Catapult Learning after his second year of summer employment. Mr. Williams was suddenly called to active duty in the Marine Reserves with less than a 24-hour notice. Catapult Learning-Milwaukee held his job until he returned.
Russell was the project leader for Catapult Learning’s warehouse which included receiving, sorting and labeling, books, libraries and other materials for non-public schools. His responsibilities included the planning, hiring and implementation of the project. Because of Russell’s experience as a worker the summer before, he was able to create a plan that operated in his absence.
Retired Col. Tim Prang, ESGR Employer Outreach Coordinator, presented the award to Mrs. Zakiya Courtney and the Catapult Learning-Milwaukee office staff. Col. Prang gave his sincere thanks to Mrs. Courtney and Catapult Learning for supporting of our nation’s troops.
