Renowned educator to lead development of new programs to increase student academic achievement
CAMDEN, NJ – Catapult Learning, a leading provider of educational intervention programs, Common Core literacy solutions and professional development services is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Eurmon Hervey as National Vice President and Superintendent of Schools. This new position designates Dr. Hervey responsible for the development of new programs to support Catapult Learning’s commitment to increasing high school graduation rates and academic achievement for all students.
As a nationally known educator and current Chairman of the Dropout Prevention Center/Network, a position previously held by Catapult Learning CEO Stuart Udell, Dr. Hervey brings a strong blend of non-profit, government and academic management experience to Catapult Learning’s senior management team. He has served in senior leadership positions in colleges and universities in the mid-Atlantic and southern regions. In Washington, D.C., Dr. Hervey served as Assistant State Superintendent and Deputy Chief State School Officer where he worked directly with District of Columbia Public Schools.
“The combination of Dr. Hervey’s commitment to increasing high school graduation rates and his experience at the Dropout Prevention Center/Network make him an excellent addition to our team as we develop new solutions to help solve the dropout crisis on a national scale,” said Catapult Learning CEO Stuart Udell.
As a native of the Mississippi delta, Dr. Eurmon Hervey used education as a road to success. A United Negro College Fund Scholarship recipient, he was chosen as a national spokesman for the organization and continues his advocacy to expand educational opportunities for low-income students. His educational background includes a Doctor of Education from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College and a Master of Education degree from Harvard University. He also earned two degrees in mathematics; a Master of Science from Clark Atlanta University and a Bachelor of Science from Edwards Waters College.
Dr. Hervey added, “I am certainly excited about joining Catapult as they endeavor to address one of the nation’s most persistent issues: dropout prevention. Dr. Hervey currently lives in Jacksonville, Fla. and is married with two teenage children.
