The Equitable Services Institute 2014 (ESI14) features new takes on previous topics and new topics not covered in past Institutes. Join your colleagues and experts from around the country for this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
2014 Agenda Highlights!
- ESI14 will focus on the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), and E-rate.
- ESEA presentations will cover the “big three” programs: Title I, Title IIA Teacher Quality, and Title III English Language Learners.
- Additionally, participation in Math and Science Partnerships (Title IIB) and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (Title IVB) will be explored.
ESI14 will also cover:
- The consultation process
- Reauthorization activities
- Flexibility waivers
- Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR)
- OMB Circular A-87
- Effective advocating to Congress.
- When covering IDEA law, regulations and guidance, topics such as child find, consultation, RTI, and advocating for services all receive a focus. E-rate will be explored, including important proposed and possibly final changes to the program, including the U.S. Department of Education’s ConnectED initiative. Wow! A busy week!
