Catapult Learning is looking forward to attending the 82nd Annual New York City Elementary School Principal Association (NYCESPA) Convention in Brooklyn, New York at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge on February 7, 2015. NYCESPA has provided a voice for the concerns and issues of the city’s elementary school principals. They are the largest independent educational professional association in the city. Their mission is to improve working conditions of their members as well as to advocate for the educational needs if the 1.1 million children that pass through their schools. This year’s keynote speaker is Pam Allyn, who is executive director and founder of LitWorld, A global organization advocating for children’s rights as readers, writers and learners. She is also the executive director and founder of LitLife, a national organization dedicated to school improvement. Ms. Allyn is widely known as a motivational speaker advocating for reading and writing as human rights hat belong to all people an is an expert in the Common Core State Standards.
