Dr. Andrew Ordover Discusses “Teaching for the Stretch” in Upcoming Google Hangout
Catapult Learning is pleased to announce an upcoming Google Hangout with Andrew Ordover, Ed.D., author of the new ebook Teaching for the Stretch: Strategies for Building Conceptual Understanding on Tuesday, March 31, at 3:30PM EDT. During the 30-minute session, Dr. Ordover will discuss the ebook, share teaching strategies to increase student engagement, and answer questions from the audience.
As Vice President of Curriculum Development at Catapult Learning, Dr. Ordover manages the design and creation of Catapult Learning’s instructional programs. As one of the company’s EduExpert bloggers, Dr. Ordover offers a rational and thoughtful voice in the often-divisive world of education.
In Teaching for the Stretch, Dr. Ordover examines what it means for students to achieve real understanding of content. Using research-based practices and his own experience as a teacher, Dr. Ordover challenges educators to teach beyond base-level knowledge—to teach for the stretch—and offers strategies that encourage students to ask questions, problem-solve, and think critically about what they learn.
Register here to participate in Dr. Ordover’s Google Hangout on Tuesday, March 31, at 3:30PM EDT. The conversation will also be recorded and available on the Catapult Learning YouTube page following Tuesday’s live session.
