Jason Donalson is a barber at the Cuttin Edge Barber Shop in Bridgeport. He has been working with at-risk youth for years, some with learning disabilities, autism and physical limitations. On Wednesday morning students from the High Road School in Wallingford stopped by for a free haircut, while learning about the trade as a potential career path. Watch the video

Students at the High Roads School of Wallingford High School participated in a food and toy drive! Students donated one unwrapped toy so they could wear their ugly Christmas sweater to school. Staff also donated to wear their ugly Christmas sweaters. Staff also participated in the food drive by bringing in canned goods and non-perishable food items. Students on blue and gold levels were invited to Solterra Academy to play a friendly pick up game of basketball! Students played with Solterra Academy and Grace Webb School. To support our students’ families for the holidays, we will be having a food drive between the return from Thanksgiving and the December holiday break. Student from High Roads School of Wallingford enjoyed a feast with their families! Parents and guardians came in and had a delightful dinner with all the fixings. "I liked being able to have my grandma in the school with me. I could show her all my work and got to eat with her!" Said one student.
