Your teachers can help their students achieve academic success with instructional resources that provide them tools developed and designed with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in mind. What can your instructors expect from Catapult Learning?
Unit and Weekly Plans
Your teachers receive annotated, CCSS-aligned unit and weekly planning documents developed specifically for the grade band in which they teach. Each plan models the principals of backwards design and makes use of engagement techniques such as Essential Questions. Each annotated exemplar plan highlights ways in which effective planning can support the instructional shifts demanded by the new standards.
Teachers also receive a set of three highly-annotated, daily lesson plans that model best practices in instruction, from assessing relevant background knowledge to proving modeling and guided practice. Each three-day lesson sequence helps teachers see how skills grow and deepen from day to day. In reading lessons, teachers see how to guide students through close reading, to discussion, and then writing. In math lessons, teachers see how to move students from concrete understanding of concepts to more abstract and real-world understanding.
