Literacy Instructional Strategies for Sustainable Results

How It Works:

With Literacy First’s Elementary framework, teachers receive all the lessons and resources they need for instruction, data management, and the use of diagnostic reading assessment to drive individualized student instruction for maximum results. The framework follows recommendations from the National Reading Panel (2000), focusing on systematic and explicit instructional strategies for:

  • Content information on phonological awareness
  • Word study (phonics and spelling), vocabulary and fluency
  • Comprehension and metacognitive processes
  • Implementation of flexible skill groups and literacy centers

While building students’ literacy and reading comprehension skills, Literacy First’s on-site coaching and consulting services support program implementation, promote teacher accountability, and strengthen your administrators’ instructional leadership skills.
