Classroom 4

I am Mr. Meek and this will be my tenth year teaching and my second year with Sierra School. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management, a California multiple subject credential, a Master of Education degree with a focus in Cross-Cultural instruction, and an Education Specialist credential.

I recently moved back to California after living on the Northeastern coast of China for seven years. While in China I was able to occupy several different roles in the educational field ranging from teaching grade school to university level students, in addition to serving as the foreign director of a private international school. I believe this experience will segue perfectly into our classroom’s theme for the year: “Exploring World Cultures and The Concept of Globalization.”

I have several goals and expectations for your child this year—primarily relating to their academic, social and emotional development. There will be a heavy emphasis on their academic development, diploma achievement, and transition to life/employment after school, as they become productive members of our future society. In order to achieve these goals, we will focus on and expect compassion, honesty, teamwork, respecting one other, and displaying a work ethic that truly reflects the intention and desire to achieve a diploma.

Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have questions, concerns, suggestions, etc., via phone and/or email (preferred).

Once again, I look forward to working with you this year and I am looking forward to helping your child achieve success!
