Hello, my name is Ms. Mills and I am excited to embark on a new year with the students of classroom 8. I have been a teacher here at Sierra School for 8 months. I am a Sacramento State graduate and I have been working with at-risk children for the last four and a half years. I am blessed with the ability to continue to work with all of the young ladies this year. Our theme for the class this year is, “Sky’s the limit.” My goal for this year, both academically and behaviorally, is to push these young women to limits they thought were impossible. We will be focusing on improving their strengths and developing great new skills.
Academically, we will be working on widening vocabulary and improving reading skills. We will expand their math skills through some fun and incentive driven assignments. We will be working to meet all of their Individual Education Plan goals throughout the entire year. Behaviorally, we will be working to increase classroom participation and camaraderie. My expectations this year are that these young ladies treat everyone inside and outside the classroom with respect. Class rules and appropriate dress code will continue to be highly enforced while on campus and in the community. This year we as a team will support each other to great heights. I am excited for this upcoming school year and I hope you all are to.
