Program Information

Our Pro-Social Peer Culture forms the foundation of our entire program, and the pillars of this culture include Guided Group Interaction (GGI) on a daily basis—regular meetings of students with their advisors to discuss issues that surface each day either in the home or in the school community—and an established system of student government, by which our student body actively participates in and contributes to our school’s environment, daily operations, and guiding principles.

Our student leadership initiatives extend off campus as well, including engagement with local government (by, for example, visiting city councils and partaking in council events with local politicians). Furthermore, we partner with Educating Communities for Parenting (ECP) (via Edna Morris, the on-site program coordinator) to educate our young parents about parenting strategies to implement with their children and to provide a safe forum for discussing their issues and concerns at weekly meetings. ECP also works with our Girls of Promise members weekly, a group that focuses on being female in the 21st century.
