FCS Peak Academy

The FCS (Fulton County Schools) PEAK (Pursuing Excellence and Knowledge) Academies opened their doors for the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. There are three academies serving FCS district which are in Union City, Hapeville and Roswell, GA. FCS PEAK services middle and high school students. The staff uses programs and structure designed to improve behaviors that impeded academic and behavioral success at their home schools. Life skills, social skills and the necessary tools for success beyond the classroom are integrated into the daily routines of FCS PEAK. With the ability to serve 100 students at each site, FCS PEAK is committed to creating successful paths to the future for our students, regardless of the challenges they may face.

Overview

In our Alternative Education program, students experience a combination of computer-based learning, direct academic instruction, small group or individualized support, behavior modification and peer accountability with the goal of students returning to their home schools on track academically. In this program, students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to create a positive learning environment and support each other in group counseling sessions. FCS PEAK Academies recognize the impact of positive peer pressure among students and promote a culture focused on students giving one another feedback to address peer and school expectations in regards to behaviors.
