Portrait of a Graduate & NYS Graduation Pathways: What Leaders Need to Know

Date: May 13
Time: 2:00 PM
Location: Zoom
New York State’s Portrait of a Graduate and updated Graduation Pathways are generating important conversations across districts. As implementation begins, district and school leaders need clarity on what is changing, what is not, and what actions are appropriate right now.
This webinar is designed specifically for superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals, and curriculum leaders seeking clear, state-aligned guidance during this period of transition.
During this session, we will cover:
- What the NYS Portrait of a Graduate is — and what it is not
- The NY Inspires implementation timeline (2025–2029)
- An overview of the three graduation pathways:
- Regents
- Career & Technical Education (CTE)
- Portfolio/Performance-Based
- What “one diploma, multiple pathways” means for districts today
- Clarifying common misconceptions (including: Are Regents going away?)
Our goal is to help leaders distinguish between immediate planning priorities and future-phase implementation requirements so districts can move forward confidently and strategically.
