Focusing On Academic Success
While a part of Summer Journey, the Pathway to Promotion program is built around a rigorous math and literacy curriculum, which focuses on key skills and concepts tailored to each grade level. This targeted approach ensures the effective development of essential competencies during the summer break.
Summer Journey’s Pathway to Promotion is an invitation-based program for Catholic School students that gives them an opportunity to establish a better academic standing over the summer months. If your child has been nominated to participate in this program, they are required to both attend and pass Pathway to Promotion in order for promotion to the next grade in Fall 2025 or for graduation.

Literacy Overview
The aim for literacy instruction in the program is to improve foundational skills from the school year, give students applicable and transferable strategies, build writing skills through focused practice, and reduce summer learning loss by focusing on NGSS-aligned grade-level standards.
Math Overview
In our math instruction, we seek to reinforce foundational math skills to build confidence and improve math fluency with our students. Additionally, improve conceptual understanding, problem solving, data collection, geometry, and algebra. And, as with all of our leaning throughout Summer Journey, reduce summer learning loss by focusing on NGSS-aligned grade-level standards.
