The Lonedell R-XIV School District has implemented a new assessment tool that will help students, teachers, administrators and parents gauge student understanding of specific content taught.

Superintendent Jenny Ulrich said the district has recently purchased an online testing tool called Evaluate by Catapult Learning.

“Our district uses formative, summative and benchmark testing as part of our instructional program,” she said. “Formative assessments are tests that are given during a unit of instruction. These tests are typically made by the teacher or quizzes online. They are used to check for understanding as the class progresses through a unit of study.
