“Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.”
In the Therapy Department at Sierra School at Eastern Extension, we believe that every child deserves to live their happiest and healthiest life. The therapy department is available to students for individual therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, crisis management, behavior modification, and conflict resolution. We strive to provide a system of positive support, while developing a sense of personal responsibility and self-efficacy within our students.
Our therapists, Ms. Jessica and Ms. Sara, are available to assist students with social, behavioral, and emotional growth. Both therapists are registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as Associate Marriage and Family Therapists. We offer theoretical interventions in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, Client-Centered, and trauma-focused orientations such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
