High Road School of Hartford Primary’s, Mr. Deven Scott has been selected as the September Staff of the Month!
Through a process where all staff in the building nominate a peer who exemplifies our CORE 4 values and has been an asset to the team, Mr. Scott received the most nominations in the building. Mr. Scott is entering his second school year with our school and has worked in several different capacities. This school year, he is acting as one of our qualified personnel who support our school nurse and recently has entered the role of floating Teacher Assistant.
In this new role, Mr. Scott is responsible for supporting the school environment as a whole. he is stationed in one classroom but is the first team member who will support all of our student’s needs as they arise. When asked about his favorite part of his job, Mr. Scott replied that “getting to know all of the student’s and their unique qualities” has been a great experience for him.
Mr. Scott also pointed out that one time that he felt like he had made an impact in a student’s life was when he was able to use the skills he has been trained in, such as Life Space Crisis Intervention, to help de-escalate a student who was struggling. That student has since formed a great rapport with Mr. Scott and has been successful for multiple days. As many staff members who voted for Mr. Scott identified, Mr. Scott is engaging, energetic and professional every day. People enjoy working with him and he will continue to help us support our student in being successful every day!
