Company Combines Educational Programming with In-Home and Clinic-Based Therapy to Accelerate and Improve Outcomes for Children

[PR Web] November 14, 2018 (Camden, NJ) – Catapult Learning, the nation’s largest provider of special education and instructional intervention solutions, today announced it acquired Capital Education Group (CEG), a leading provider of behavioral health services and private school programs for children with autism and other specialized learning needs. The CEG acquisition enables Catapult to accelerate the company’s mission of integrating educational and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, with a goal of improving outcomes for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.

Capital Education Group’s expertise in addressing autism spectrum disorders and delivering ABA services outside of the school environment complements Catapult’s 40+ year commitment to helping students succeed, regardless of the learning obstacles or other challenges they face. This transaction augments Catapult’s ability to support families more holistically, addressing both their educational and behavioral healthcare needs.

“We were immediately attracted to Capital Education Group’s outcomes-based programs and strong management team,” said Jeffrey Cohen, CEO of Catapult Learning. “This acquisition enables Catapult Learning to provide more services to our students with autism spectrum disorders across the country, blending education and behavioral healthcare in a way that drives better outcomes for our students and their families.”

Today, CEG operates a portfolio of programs designed to address the needs of children with autism, including three Auburn School campuses, multiple ABA clinics and an in-home program, covering the mid-Atlantic. The Auburn School is an independent day-school, offering stimulating educational programs for intellectually engaged students with challenges in the areas of communication, socialization, language, and organization. Auburn simultaneously supports the development of academic skills, social competency and pragmatic language in an engaging educational environment. Through Little Leaves, CEG provides in-home ABA services dedicated to helping children with social, communication, and behavioral challenges grow and succeed. Capital also manages several Little Buds clinics, a center-based ABA program for young children with an autism spectrum disorders operated in a preschool-like setting. At Little Buds, each client works one-on-one with a trained therapist on individualized goals with a focus on social communication, social interactions, and school readiness skills.

“This acquisition unites two like-minded companies that are devoted to helping children succeed,” said Marina Major, president of Capital Education Group. “We’re excited to bring the resources of Catapult Learning to bear on the exceptional track record Capital Education Group has with the communities we serve.”
