What has Gavin done over the past month to achieve Student of the Month?

Over the past month we have been searching for a student who has shown significant growth and represented the schools core values well. I’d like to introduce to you Gavin Hamlin. He a senior at The Center for Autism and Dyslexia of Lima. Gavin has been a joy to have in class this school year.

What are Gavin’s teachers saying about him this month?

Gavin’s homeroom teacher expressed how proud she was of her hardworking student. She continued to explain, “Gavin’s nature is to be helpful! He will go out of his way to reach out to a classmate in need. For example, he is the student that will stop what he is doing to help other’s pick up papers if they spill everywhere!” When Gavin was asked why he thought he was chosen as student of the month he said, “I don’t really know! I am no one special. I guess I just add humor to the classroom!” His teacher can attest to this.

What is something Gavin has accomplished so far this school year that they are proud of?

This school year alone, Gavin is more engaged in classroom learning and participating in group discussions. He is eager to learn new information. He has an extremely positive attitude and does an excellent job staying on task and following the classroom rules. We are very excited to work with Gavin more this school year!
