This new funding, through Section 31aa of Public Act 120 of 2024, provides critical support for improving student mental health and safety across Michigan. Eligible recipients—including intermediate school districts, local education agencies, public school academies and non-public schools—can opt in to receive funds starting September 3, 2024. The opt-in process closes on November 1, 2024, with funds disbursed on a per-pupil basis by December 31, 2024.
