Getting Smarter with Smart Boards

High Road School of New London Middle/High was able to purchase 3 SmartBoards this year in order to add an additional layer of interaction to academics. These boards act as “smart” whiteboards, incorporating a touch-screen component that allows students to interact with online lessons for a multitude of subjects. What impact has Mr. Evans had on colleagues and students over the past month? Mr. Evans has been a one to one paraprofessional at High Road School of New London since April of 2019. Relaxation & Self Control

During health classes, students have the opportunity to explore a variety of topics that encompass health of both mind and body. During September, students were able to give yoga a try to promote relaxation and self-control. Also hesitant at first, students really got into it, some even admitting they felt relaxed! Staff also joined in on the fun, allowing everyone to tackle the rest of the day relaxed and rejuvenated!

A new school year means new job opportunities both in and outside of the school for the students of High Road New London Middle/High. Ms. Shannon Chairty, the schools transition coordinator, has been working tirelessly to create applications and job postings for various school-based positions. Currently, during her weekly push-in instruction in the classrooms, Ms. Charity and students have been working together to develop resumes, fill out job applications, and discuss qualifications needed to be met to obtain employment.
