“I sincerely believe that, because of Literacy First, our school climbed to the top of the educational ladder, the faculty became a closer-knit group, and the students matured greatly. But most of all, this old dog learned a lot of new tricks. My only regret is that I didn’t know about Literacy First years ago.”
– Pat Fritz, 6th Grade Teacher
Mountain View-Gotebo Elementary, Blue Ribbon School, Oklahoma

Everglades Elementary School in Broward County, Florida received a B grade from the Florida DOE for the first time in over 10 years – and became the highest performing school in the district with the release of 2020-21 school grades.

An Oklahoma school with a 50% ELL student population was named as one of Tulsa’s five exemplary elementary schools because the passing rate of fifth grade ELL students was right in line with that of their peers in regular classrooms. The principal attributed their success to Literacy First, saying, “This never would have happened without their help.”

An elementary school in Volusia County, Florida with 85% of students receiving free/reduced lunch and a 90% African American population demonstrated 85% of students reading on grade level. Another high-poverty Literacy First school in Fayette County, Kentucky had 89% of students scoring on grade level.

“We thank Literacy First for providing the professional development and coaching/support. This never would have happened without that help.”
-Kayla Robinson, Principal
