Why did you choose this specific line of work?
After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in General Education, I went on to earn my Master’s in Special Education. All along, I’ve know that I wanted to work with students with special needs.
What’s a day at the High Road School like for you?
Every single day is different, but generally I’m working with my class of students. This can involved supporting their individual needs, providing academic support, or assisting another team member during the day.
Can you give an example of a ‘Little Victory’ you’ve seen a student achieve at the High Road School?
For some, this may seem like a small thing, but it’s a victory none the less. For me, when my students are able to keep their area clean (including their desks) and taking care of all their class materials throughout the day, that is a little victory that goes a long way for me.
Can you describe something special about your team and the school?
High Road School, and the entire staff, truly love and support all of our students on a daily basis and make sure each student receives the support they need.
