Today we celebrated the power and beauty of family brought together through adoption. By drawing a smiley face on our hand, we’re raising awareness for the 19 million children in the world who are waiting for their forever family and believing in a world where there is a family for every child.
Students explored blow painting and learned about how their breath force and direction have an effect on their beautiful fall creations.
Our students and teachers participated in a Halloween themed door decoration competition! The objective was to motivate students to work as a team, continue to develop their creativity and encourage a little friendly competition between classrooms.
Mrs. Amy’s science class conducted an erupting apple experiment using baking soda and vinegar for an awesome chemical reaction! Chemistry is all about states of matter including liquids, solids, and gasses. A chemical reaction occurs between two or more substances that change and form a new substance, and in this case a gas called carbon dioxide. Students used an acid, liquid: vinegar and a base solid: baking soda, and combined them to make a gas called carbon dioxide which produces the eruption you can see. The class loved seeing carbon dioxide escapes the mixture in the form of bubbles! [...]
The staff and students at high road school of new castle truly tapped into their creativity, making spirit week a huge success!
