Celebrating World Adoption Day

Today we celebrated the power and beauty of family brought together through adoption. By drawing a smiley face on our hand, we’re raising awareness for the 19 million children in the world who are waiting for their forever family and believing in a world where there is a family for every child.

Halloween Door Decorating Contest

Our students and teachers participated in a Halloween themed door decoration competition! The objective was to motivate students to work as a team, continue to develop their creativity and encourage a little friendly competition between classrooms.

Science Experiment

Mrs. Amy’s science class conducted an erupting apple experiment using baking soda and vinegar for an awesome chemical reaction! Chemistry is all about states of matter including liquids, solids, and gasses. A chemical reaction occurs between two or more substances that change and form a new substance, and in this case a gas called carbon dioxide. Students used an acid, liquid: vinegar and a base solid: baking soda, and combined them to make a gas called carbon dioxide which produces the eruption you can see. The class loved seeing carbon dioxide escapes the mixture in the form of bubbles! [...]

Spirit Week

The staff and students at high road school of new castle truly tapped into their creativity, making spirit week a huge success! Thank you to all the staff, students and families who helped make spirit week a success. A special thank you to Ms. Heather and Mr. Delayne for amping up spirit week within their classroom, resulting in the highest level of participation in the school!
