Music Therapy

When words fall short, music can create a path to recovery, fulfillment, and wellness. Once a month, our elementary students participate in music therapy with  Audrey Hausig  from Inner Rhythms Music and Therapy Center. Singing, instrument playing, song writing, and listening to live or recorded music as well as verbal exchanges are used to create safety within a therapeutic relationship. Science Expanded

The elementary class is learning about beavers, their habitat, and how they make lodges. They learned where lodges can be located and how many beavers live in one. To build on their knowledge, in art class they took a nature walk in the park and found everything beavers need to make their homes, and then created their own beaver lodge! Meet our Social Worker

Jeff Pincin, School Social Worker Jeff Pincin has been at High Road School of Delaware since summer 2018. Prior to joining the High Road School of Delaware team, Jeff Pincin worked as a mobile therapist with kids in foster care and at-risk families. Jeff Pincin earned his Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education and a minor in music from Millersville University and his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University. Richelle LaFage-Sutton, Associate Director of Education Richelle Sutton joined Specialized Education Services, Inc. in August, 2014 and is currently the Associate Director of Education with High Road School of Delaware.
