Septembers student of the month is Sergio Gonzales. Sergio is silver level, on one of the highest behavior levels. Sergio has worked very hard to earn silver level and improve his social interaction skills and anger management. Students at High Road School at Lockerman Middle school have been practicing their dribbling, passing and puck skills during their P.E. class. By the end of the quarter student will be able to develop and apply principles of attack versus defense in small sided games of hockey. Students have been building on their skill set and were beginning to play the game following the rules. What has Gabriel done over the past month to achieve Student of the Month? Gabe recently came into the High Road classroom as an 8th grader. Gabe has meet and exceed all goals set for him this year. Joanna Doberstein has been awarded the staff of the month for September. Joanna is the teacher in the B.E.S.T. classroom. Entering just her second year as the teacher in that classroom, Joanna has done an amazing job creating a positive classroom culture. Working with our ASD population, including some non-verbal and aggressive students, most would agree that Joanna has one of the toughest jobs in the building. The student of the month for September was awarded to Sumarie Velez. Sue is a senior this year and just started her third year at the High Road Program at Ferguson. The overwhelming consensus among the staff who voted was that Sue has dramatically increased her level of participation to start the year. Sue has had an extremely positive attitude on most days which is helping to keep her motivated and on task throughout the day.
