Oma’s Pumpkin Patch

On October 1st, three classes started off the fall season with an exciting trip to Oma's Pumpkin Patch! Upon arriving, the classes learned that Oma's Pumpkin Patch was named after the owners grandma, who is Dutch! The students then took a hay ride past the sunflower field to the barn, where they learned about dairy cows and their calves, and other farm facts. Staff of the Month: Adi

Congratulations to our staff of the month for September, Ms. Adi Martin. Ms. Martin teaches our high school diploma bound classroom. After 1 year as an assistant, Ms. Martin stepped into the role as classroom teacher and has done exceptionally well. Not only has Ms. Martin jumped right into IEP's, learning her students, and meeting with her parents to collaborate, she has had perfect attendance as well! Student of the Month: Dakota

Dakota is a twelfth grader in Ms. Lieberman’s class. Dakota has done an exemplary job this September of having a growth mindset and being a positive role model for his classmates. Dakota re-earned gold status at the beginning of the month after working hard all summer staying on blue. Devin Ingram is a 9th grade student at High Road Upper School. He came to us from the Lower School in September and Devin has excelled as a high school student! Every morning Devin comes to school with a smile on his face, ready to joke with the first staff member he sees. Career Fair at Ripken Stadium

High Road School of Harford County students attended a career fair on October 10, 2019 at the Ripken Stadium. This provided students the opportunity to find jobs and internships, network, and put their communication skills at work. Each student who attended was fully engaged in the event, asked employers many questions, and learned about the many different career paths in the workforce. Weeks prior to this event, students spent much of their time creating their resumes, practicing interview skills, and preparing questions to ask employers. One Senior’s Adventure to Success

Crystal B. is a senior in high school, who is close to the last leg of her journey. Graduation is right around the corner and the idea of school work can be a thing of the past.
