Katy Miller, Education Specialist I started working with special education students when I was in high school. Katy started at Springall Academy 11 years ago as a teacher’s assistant. She received her teaching credential in 2013 and became the elementary teacher at that time. Katy has been Springall’s lead teacher since 2016. My morning starts early prepping and preparing with my classroom assistants. As [...]

Conquering Tech Ed!

Michael is an eighth grader who has grown immensely in his years with us at High Road. He began taking Technology Education at Snow Hill Middle School this year, learning how to build and make simple machines work. The class was given the assignment to create a project of their choice out of wood. The obstacle tentatively standing in Michael’s way, was using the heavy duty cutting machines. He had some fears about using the machine safely to complete his task, however he came up with a great idea, and he really wanted to see it through. With the [...]

Meet the Team: Francisco Villar

Francisco Villar, Administrative Director Francisco Villar during a recent college shirt day at Leeway. I enjoy the people with whom I work. Our program provides a stable, safe, and nurturing learning environment for our students. I am proud to be a part of this school! Each day that a student returns to school, ready to learn, is a victory. Each day a student experiences some joy in their day is a victory. I have seen students take those “victories” and use them to motivate themselves to complete their education. Our [...]

Meet the Team: Marisa Lefebvre

Marisa Lefebvre, Special Education Teacher I love the population of students. I wanted to make a difference in working with students who may not be able to always advocate for themselves. I want to be the support for students who may not otherwise have that. I want to provide my students with the opportunity to see success in their education. My mornings start with greeting every student. Help students with their journal prompt at my desk. Each student may be able to have different privileges depending on what level they [...]
